ok please excuse if this is a dumb question- I have tried to figure it out myself… Using the API, I want to retrieve the results of some queries, not run them live. Is this possible, and if yes how?

No dumb questions here, @Adam Connor :) While there isn't a way to grab the results of a previous query, you can tweak the hosts API to include additional information about your hosts. If that doesn't do the trick for you, let us know what the end goal is and we can see if there's another way to get at the data you need.
