hey folks, hope you're doing fine. I recently started a new job and my first task here is to come up with a comprehensive solution for inventory. Which includes ofc a lot of metrics that could be gathered through osquery. The paid solutions like Device42 or Axonius are always super expensive, but I get why, still I'd like to build sth Open Source We looked at GLPI before, the jack of all trades solution, but there was quite a lot which we didn't like, so I guess do you have solutions to manage your inventory of HW and SW assets, also to set them into relation? aka CMDB? Would be interested to hear how others do it. I was thinking of using the ELK stack to make everything work together, osquery (in combination with fleet, osctrl) to gather data from computers, for SNMP discovery and general monitoring i was looking into openNMS, and DataGerry looks nice as a CMDB. and fancy that up with ansible 😄
