heya folks-- in my hosts tab I have a mix of ec2 and on-prem physicals. for whatever reason, the physical servers don't list ten a public ip address, but ec2 does. I can get the physical ip address by setting up a query in interface_addresses but I'm hoping to see it in hosts also. any thoughts are appreciated. :)

Hey @Rich Perow, the Public IP is grabbed in Fleet from the headers of incoming requests from your hosts. If your physical hosts are on a private network, the Public IP is not set. https://fleetdm.com/docs/deploy/public-ip#public-ips-of-devices You could add that query as an additional info query. That wouldn't show up in the Fleet UI, but would be attached to host info in the REST API: https://fleetdm.com/docs/configuration/configuration-files#features-additional-queries

@Kathy Satterlee thanks for responding. I saw that, but it is on a public network and not using the private interfaces. is the header built into orbit/osquery when data is being sent to the server? if not, is it configurable?
well i suppose i could put an nginx proxy in front
