Hello everyone, I have some users experiencing a problem with this process called Kolide using 1 gb + of their memory. We have Kolide on every device but I don’t have any process simply named Kolide in my activity monitor, I thought the process was Launchd or something. Any Ideas ?
s
On macos, we distribute bundles
<http://Kolide.app|Kolide.app>
and
<http://osquery.app|osquery.app>
. The former contains
launcher
binary.
launchd
is the name of the macOS service manager framework
I’ve often found memory usage to be somewhat hard to understand. Several numbers are the virtual memory space, which mostly doesn’t matter. While some are the real memory usage which does. Do you know if this represents a performance problem? Regardless, I’d recommend reaching out to out support team. Ideally with some of the effected devices and whatever information from your users you’ve got. (if they’re looking at activity monitor, or top, a screen shot would help)

So is it not normal that I do not have a Kolide Process in my Mac ? My mac seems fine when I look at it in Kolide
s
Activity Monitor would show
Kolide
,
ps
would show
launcher

Alright I will contact support then, I have no Kolide in Activity Monitor
s
That surprises me. Even if you search for it?

Yeah ! And it seems all good in Kolide admin

I can peek in your account. Which device? (serial number or a k2 URL)

FYI might not want to share serial numbers in public slack here.
