So that implies we should be backing out the sqlite upgrade?

yeah I will attempt to do that today plus blocking the functionality that has CVEs. I was also looking into actually solving the issue fully on our side without changing sqlite. I think it's possible (I left my findings in the issue that started this: https://github.com/osquery/osquery/issues/8291) but maybe not when we are in a rush

Backing it out seems like a fine option for now and it would definitely be ideal if we could fix it without changing sqlite.
