alias has been removed here https://github.com/osquery/osquery/commit/fa98cd5cc6270bc9d011487171edca9e733035aa. The documentation is not up to date; the flag should be

logger_event_type

as shown in that commit. In general I would suggest to look at the

osqueryd --help

output, which lists the flags that are supported by that specific version of osquery.
