@Kshitij Gupta osqueryi is just a symlink to osqueryd; when starting the osqueryd process checks the name of the command used to launch it and if it's osqueryi, then it will launch in shell mode. Another way is to launch the osqueryd process with the

-S

option. A symlink named osqueryi should've been automatically created next to the osqueryd binary.
