deadline of a stable release before end-of-August. There are some final toolchain complexities around building a portable release for Linux that we should investigate. @Stefano Bonicatti has been leading this effort and has some next steps. I don't think we need to be all-hands-on-deck to get this finished so let's continue to make progress in other places. Continue raising and fixing bugs identified, applying feedback in PRs and on issues, and moving discussions within issues forward.
