Hi all, how to move from Intune MDM to Fleet MDM for Windows? How do I assign a device to Fleet MDM ?
z
Hello @Marat Bakeev - Here's the Windows MDM setup guide: https://fleetdm.com/guides/windows-mdm-setup
For migration, there's no flow for Windows hosts right now
You can follow along with this issue as we're working on the development for this now: https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet/issues/22075

Hi @Zay Hanlon, I did do that. I'm happy to reinstall all windows hosts. So far, I've adjusted Intune scope from ALL to Some, and enrolled a laptop into Fleet. But it didn't install
fleetd
What are my next steps, then?

Let me add in a member of the team to troubleshoot with you. Stand by!

@Marat Bakeev, What does the host look like in Fleet right now?
m
It didn't appear in fleet at all
I've assigned the user to Fleet group in Entra and did an autopilot reset

@Kathy Satterlee yes, I did this, the device is visible in autopilot.
The device seems to be enrolled in our organization, but it didn't apply the usual stuff from Intune (which is good) - but seems to do nothing with Fleet, no fleet desktop, no fleetd
@Kathy Satterlee is there any more information that you need from me? I'm not sure what to do next
z
@Marat Bakeev apologies - she's now working on a premium customer issue but we'll come back to you on this

I figured this one out. You need to make sure, that Intune's scope is set some in Entra ID, and then you give it a group of Users to be on mdm. Your test user for fleet needs to go into another group, which is also assigned to FleetDM's some scope.

@Brock Walters can you look at this and confirm if we need to update anything in docs to make this clearer for folks? ^

I will review the Windows MDM article to see if I can squeeze this tidbit in somewhere sensible. Thanks @Marat Bakeev!
