Rebase vs Squash — That’s a pretty reasonable point. Though it’s counter to my professional experience. Post merge, I’m usually looking for the discussion around a commit, not the bare commit itself. I find the github model a bit weird, it feels like there’s a bit of a mismatch. For the changelog though, I want even less detail. I usually try to roll up similar things into one line item.
