The query I listed —

SELECT uid,version FROM users CROSS JOIN chrome_extensions USING (uid) WHERE identifier='aomjjhallfgjeglblehebfpbcfeobpgk'

calls the users table many times in current HEAD. Changing that to a join calls it few times.
