, it is actually a good question. Now we osquery has a full static build for all platforms except

freebsd

where it build against dynamic libraries. And this flags is some sort of dependencies but against dynamic libraries for freebsd. The proper way to do it, just to create an empty target with this exported compiler flag definition and use this target as dependency in order to propagate the flag to other targets. But this thing is in TODO list for now, I guess.
