@Jan Jedrasik We do not know of any current workarounds. Because Mac has moved the screenlock settings into the user's keychain, only the user can run a successful query on this information. It also only persists for a certain amount of time. So without an MDM profile in place, there is currently no way to tell if screenlock is enabled.
