Hey Everyone, I just wanted to ask a quick question, as we love hearing stories from the community! How did you first get started using osquery? meep awestruck

I got hired to work for a company called Kolide. Getting my hands dirty using osquery seemed like a pretty necessary prerequisite for building any semblance of a product around it 😉

You're not wrong in the slightest 😂 I can't see it doing anything but helping!

I read a news article about kolide/osquery I was curious about osquery (and kolide 😉 ) And read a bit more about osquery and thought it was a cool project And I wanted to contribute to it because it was doing some cool stuff

It had been on my list to try out for a long time, and where I work we have an opportunity to take 10% time to work on our own projects, so one of those I took it for a spin, along with the then “Kolide Fleet” and thought it had so much potential, I rolled it out everywhere 🙂

I had basically the same experience as Fritz 🙂

Think I read a blog article about someone who made a SOC from ELK the osquery. And then I did the same thing.

osquery is definitely a cool project, and it's really eye opening to see all the different ways in which it's been implemented! Thanks for taking the time to reply everyone! 👾
