hey gang! I was wondering if someone could help me understand the Windows Update enforcement in Fleet a bit better. I've been encountering an issue with the behavior and I am trying to figure out why it's happening, might be how I have it configured. So the setup is this, I have my
Deadline
set to 7 days and the
Grace period
set to 2 days. That way the users have a week to get things installed and a little padding on the other side just in case they are out for whatever reason. This used to work just fine, updates would automatically install and users (and myself) would get notifications during the 7 day period saying something to the effect of "hey updates are installed, make sure to reboot by the end of the week." If they went over they'd get the in your face popup that is listed on the settings page saying "Restart required in X hours" Now I'm only getting the in your face popup and its a much shorter period. It will basically say that a restart is required in the next few minutes. Not really sure what is happening, I'll try to get some screenshots the next time it happens but this has been happening probably since around when I upgraded to Fleet v4.63? I am on v4.66 now Workstation I'm seeing the behavior on is Windows 11 24H2

How far out from the deadline were you when you saw the notification?
b
I'm not sure since I'm not getting any other notifications about it. In that regard I had questions about how that deadline is set. Is it X days from when the updates are released, found, downloaded, or installed?
k
The deadline starts when the OS sees the available update.
