Hi everyone. Need your help with this error, I can’t query but my database is connected to my fleet which is in docker container. Fleet version is 4.31.1 and osquery is 5.8.2. Here is the exact error: {"component":"http","err":"error in query ingestion","ingestion-err":"campaign waiting for listener (please retry)","ip_addr":"10.0.0.9","level":"error","method":"POST","took":"3.161625ms","ts":"2025-04-23T064303.610719108Z","uri":"/api/v1/osquery/distributed/write","x_for_ip_addr":"10.0.0.9"} Would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

hey @Teel - your version of Fleet is extremely far behind 😞 i'll have someone take a look at the error but we only provide support on the latest version in the community because it's so hard to determine if something has been fixed in any of the intermediate versions between older ones and the current.
did anything change in your config when you started to see this come up? is there any chance you're able to upgrade (don't do this yet because there are likely some caveats that you need to be aware of with big jump like this, just want to see if its possible to upgrade)?

Hi @Zay Hanlon there’s no changes in my config prior the error which makes it difficult to know the cause on our end. All of sudden it stops working, everything is accessible but when I tried to query, it’s just keeps on loading and error in logs occur. I can perform the upgrade on our fleet image. What version should I try first? Thank you :)

Hi @Teel! Our latest version is
4.69.0
. You can see the features and our linked update guide here. One thing I'd like to call out is that in Fleet
4.55.0
we deprecated support for MySQL 5.7, and we encourage everyone to upgrade their Fleet infrastructure to MySQL 8 for use with the latest versions.

we also recommend having a snapshot of the database!

the other thing to note is - are you using scheduled queries? are you utilizing the software inventory functionality?

Hi @Mason Buettner thanks for the inputs! We’re also using MYSQL 8 in our infra Hi @Zay Hanlon noted on the snapshot. For the queries, we only utilize the software inventory, no scheduled queries :)

Hey @Teel Then the biggest thing I would note is that there are some database migration issues we've seen from other customers because of changes to the software tables. I would keep an eye out for that. If you can plan for your upgrade during 11am to 3pm ET that would be ideal. We can have support here if any questions come up

Hi @Zay Hanlon thank you so much for this. I’ll let you know :)

Hi @Zay Hanlon, I upgraded my fleet image to v4.68.0 and everything is working again. Thank you. :)
