@Leonoor S hi, so does prepare never return?
l
No, i don't get anything back
t
I see, what version of fleet are you using?
l
I guess 3.2.0. i cannot check the version. Is there a command to check version? i tried fleet --version
t
is this a new install? if so, I would suggest trying out the latest version: 4.6.1
l
Yes, i just installed this using
Copy code
wget <https://github.com/kolide/fleet/releases/latest/download/fleet.zip>
t
so fleet has moved out of kolide into fleetdm: https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet/tree/main/docs/02-Deploying
l
aah, im gonna try that! thank u
t
if you are looking to try fleet, and see what it can do, I suggest you look at fleet preview: https://fleetdm.com/get-started

Hi all! I am trying to perform a new fleet install but when I run "fleetctl prepare db" I always get "no help topic for "prepare"".. I've tried to follow several install guides but all of them use the prepare command which doesn't seem to exist anymore. I'm on Ubuntu 20.04
t
hi there, to run prepare you need to use fleet instead of fleetctl as the binary
l
Thanks Tomas!
