is there a way to disable detail queries entirely? with a large fleet, it takes up a lot of resources, and it's not relevant to how we use our data

There is not. PRs would be accepted assuming there is some way for the UX to make sense still.

you can disable some, such as host users and software inventory, which can add up easily as the host count increases
