Is RBAC on the roadmap for development at all?

@Zach Zeid, I believe more comprehensive RBAC has been requested in the past, if your organization is interested in sponsoring its development I would reach out to @zwass.

Does that mean that Kolide Fleet isn't actively developed unless there is a sponsorship?

That is correct. Kolide the company has focused its efforts on our SaaS offering.

@Zach Zeid Fleet is community developed and as such feature development is largely at the mercy of motivated community-members. Zach Wasserman runs an independent osquery consulting shop called https://dactiv.llc/ and makes many ongoing contributions to the project but outside of security/stability fixes these typically land as features sponsored by organizations who use Fleet. For example the recent performance boost that permitted installations in the 100k + endpoint range was facilitated by Bloomberg: https://github.com/kolide/fleet/pull/2251

This is good to know, thank you!
Do features from K2 eventually make it to Fleet, or are they entirely separate in terms of development?

The server code bases are completely separate. Launcher is shared between them.
