me again with some smtp issue i can't seem to figure out, i'm getting
sending mail: startTLS error: x509: certificate has expired or is not yet valid
when trying to set my smtp settings, but when checking the cert manually with
openssl
i get valid dates (july 7th 2020 - july 7th 2022)? has anyone else seen this?

Are you sure you're checking the same cert?

i'm trying to recreate my cert now, just in case, but there was only one cert available

Same host name? Same port?

As a sanity check, did you restart the fleet server? Maybe it's poorly caching.

yeah, what's weird is i had a dev instance working with the same exact settings

the mail server is reachable, just seems to complain about my cert, but hang on i'm trying some things with new certs

And is the Fleet server set to the correct date?

as you probably expected, false alarm, our mail server was having some TLS issues and it took a bit for me to reach that level of troubleshooting ๐Ÿ˜…
