So i think the easiest solution here, is ensure you have some form of simple and frequent "heartbeat" queries for osquery that you can cross-correlate with other checkins happening, such as Chef runs or Nagios metrics, and then ensure you're seeing data feeds from both. I'm not 100% convinced it'd be worth having osquery write out "heartbeta" style artifacts out of band of the logger plugins.
